CHARACTER NAME: Zelda
SERIES/BACKGROUND: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword; more info on Zelda herself here.
AGE: Unknown; somewhere in her mid to late teens.
APPEARANCE: 1 and 2!

PERSONALITY:
Zelda is a very kind-hearted girl; she's compassionate, friendly, and naturally charismatic. She's one of the most popular girls in her hometown, and seems to be on good terms with almost everyone. She's earnest in her desires, and she's extremely good at reading people; she picks up on the habits of those she's known for a while fairly easily, and uses these observations to make it seem like she always knows what's going on. Perhaps all of this only natural, given that she was a goddess in a past life.

When faced with tough decisions, she always tries to think of what's best in the long run—the choice that would benefit the most people, even if it means taking advantage of someone or a sacrifice in the end. For example, she's a pacifist by nature, but she'll fight (or get someone else to fight for her) if she needs to. Necessity, for her, almost always trumps practicality. In canon, she admits to Link that she (as Hylia) knew that he would protect Zelda under any circumstances, so she chose to use him in order to seal away the evil threatening their land. She's not always proud of these decisions, but she is wise enough to know that her actions affect not only herself, but those around her, too.

She does, however, work to the other extreme, as well. She has a vast capacity for being forgiving, and genuinely regrets her actions whenever she realizes they've had negative affects. She believes that all people are deserving of forgiveness, and if she needs to atone, she'll gladly do so. For example, after revealing Hylia's master plan to Link, she decides to take on the duty of preventing evil from being unleashed at the hands of evil singlehandedly, even though it means effectively going into a coma for what might be thousands of years.

Beyond her past identity as a goddess, though, Zelda is ultimately just a normal girl. She ceased being Hylia several hundred years ago, after all; she doesn't let her past interfere with who she is now. She's very hardworking, determined, and surprisingly down to earth. She tries to see the best in people, and is always willing to give them a second chance. She does have a playful streak, but don't push her; she may be a nice girl, but that doesn't mean she won't scold someone if it'll get them into the right mindset. When she puts her mind to something, it will definitely get done.

In summary, she's a girl who's wise beyond her years, who always wants what's best for those who rely on her. She may not be perfect, but no one really is. She just has to do what she thinks is right, all while trying to live a life of normalcy now that her duties are over. What's a goddess-turned-mortal-turned-goddess-again to do?

ABILITIES: Despite being the reincarnation of a goddess, Zelda does not have any latent abilities of her own, except her wisdom and intuition. Sometimes the latter may be so uncannily accurate that it might seem like precognition, but she can't actually predict the future.

POSSESSIONS: All she has is her harp, as well as her Loftwing.

As a God.
REPRESENTATION:
Zelda, at her core, represents wisdom. Her temples are very elegant in nature, with elaborate stained glass windows featuring herself and her hero being found in almost every structure. Her priestesses tend to favor clothing in shades of magenta and violet, and wear their hair similar to hers—two strands in front, wrapped in bands of varying colors. Her patron animal is a bird, derived from her lifelong connection with her Loftwing. As such, statues of her usually depict her alongside the giant bird, and some followers even gain an affinity for winged creatures.

FOLLOWERS:
Zelda's followers come from all sorts of places and backgrounds, but many choose to devote themselves to the pursuit of knowledge. They may not necessarily be applying their skills in the field of academia, but her followers are always looking for ways in which to enrich their lives. If someone is faced with a troublesome dilemma that they don't think they can solve themselves, Zelda's the one they pray to for the wisdom to make the right choice. Those who are musically inclined tend to take up the harp, which has become a sort of symbol for her.
